Re: Eamonn Dolan - RIP
I noticed that Reading have renamed one of their stands after Eamonn and it incorporates a giant image of him made up of some 400 small pictures of young players he had coached to first team levels.

A nice tribute.

When you look at his playing career you'll notice that we witnessed his pinnacle, his finest hour (i also remember seeing him score his third and final goal for us, a tap in but can't recall against which team, at Upton park), as not long after that he went to play in the lower leagues then his career was cut cruelly short by cancer (I wonder if the two illnesses are linked?).

Thankfully he got into coaching and was very well regarded at Reading, perusing the Reading f.c Twitter feed I saw lots of current and ex players thanking him for changing their lives.

Ah this is horrible news. Remember being at that Sunderland game as I managed to miss 3 of the goals. Caught a glimpse of the jig mind.

RIP Eamonn.

Dam sad news

As a teenager I can recall taking openly about cancer for the first time around the family table when someone brought his condition up -older folks & family taking about it openly was not the in thing then .

I'm another old enough to remember that Sunderland game.
Every goal was a good un.
And the match report on it by Patrick Barclay was full of praise for an exciting young West Ham team......and made a special mention of the youthful prospect Eamonn Dolan.

Very sad news, met him several times and attended an academy presentation at Readings training ground. Very knowledgeable and a nice guy.

Born in Galway but I think he went to school in Dagenham

Terrible shame, I used to play in the same team as him and his twin Patrick at youth level . They were two years younger but were that good they played in our team. Really nice lads and their dad was a good bloke as well. Rip eamon.
